My web design and development process

From idea to launch I believe great websites start with clear communication, thoughtful planning, and a collaborative approach. Here’s what working together looks like:

1. Initial call or zoom meeting
   We’ll start with a quick chat to get to know each other and talk through your goals, challenges, and what you’re hoping to achieve. This helps me understand your vision and gives you a chance to ask any questions.
2. Requirements gathering
   I’ll dig deeper into the specifics of your website - what features you need, your audience, design preferences, content strategy, and technical requirements. If you have an existing site, I’ll audit it and identify areas to improve.
3. Proposal & quote
   Based on our discussion, I’ll send a detailed proposal outlining the scope of work, timelines, and pricing. You’ll know exactly what to expect, with no surprises down the road.
4. Design & feedback
   I’ll create initial design concepts that align with your brand and goals. You’ll be invited to provide feedback at key points, so we stay aligned and you feel confident in the direction.
5. Development & testing
   Once the design is approved, I build the site using clean, performance-optimised code. You’ll be able to preview the site and give feedback before we go live.
6. Launch
   After final approval, I’ll handle the launch - migrating your site to the live server, testing it across devices and browsers, and making sure everything works smoothly.
7. Post-launch support
   Need help with training, updates, or ongoing support? I offer flexible maintenance plans and one-off assistance so your site stays fast, secure, and up to date.
8. A note on hosting
   I don't provide hosting but can recommend reliable hosting services and help you get set up. I'm also happy work with hosting that you may already have.
